These
level sensors contain hermetically sealed reed switches in the
stem, and a permanent magnet in the float. As the float rises,
falls or tilts with the level of the liquid, the magnet in the
float activates the reed switch.
Float Level Technology
Advantages:
- Adaptable
to wide variations in fluid densities
- Can
be used in extreme process conditions
- Unlimited
tank height
- Can
achieve high accuracy
- Low
cost if not remote reading
Float Level Technology
Disadvantages:
•
Vulnerable to particulate or product deposition
• Moving parts exposed to fluids
• Limited pressure rating
• Not very good in agitated vessels
• Not suitable for granular's
• High Maintenance
